Blayd: A Bad Boy Biker Romance (The Reckless Riders MC Book 1) Page 9

“You can’t be so hard on yourself, Blayd. I know it’s crazy pressure, I know that it must feel like we’re at a disadvantage here, but we’re not. We’ve got some of the strongest people I’d ever met, including you. There’s nothing you can’t do. Just go at this without the rage. And no, I can’t see it on you, but I know it’s there.”

I had to agree with her. I was so consumed by what happened to Scotch that I couldn’t even think about anything else.

When Thrasher and Valkyrie pulled up beside us, I knew that it was show time. “So, Scotch gave you the plan?”

  They both nodded.

“And you both must know the truth about me by now, right?” Angelina chimed in.

They both nodded again, but they didn’t seem angry.

Valkyrie spoke first, “We don’t like it. But you weren’t the one to try and take him down either. We only care about saving the club. We don’t have time for the damn blame game. Stakes are too damn high.”

“Thank you. I don’t deserve anyone’s trust. But I will damn well earn it.”

Thrasher gave her a nod. “We will be taking up on that. You ride well and stayed calm under attack. These other skills you have will come into play.”

Valkyrie simply nodded. “We need to avenge Scotch. He’s done so much to keep the peace around here, we have to follow suit and get rid of these sick fucks. It’s time they get a taste of what it feels like to run scared, but as much as I want to storm right into their hideout, we have to be smart about this. We need to go after them with precision, not wild ass raids.”

“So, what’s the plan?” I asked.

“We’re going to have to gather intel first off, and something tells me that you know a thing or two about that, Angelina. At least that’s what I’ve heard, since you came here and managed to weasel your way into Blayd’s company.”

  I shook my head.

He laughed. “So, where do we start, hit woman?” Thrasher asked.

“We start by getting close, infiltrating the places they keep their valuables, and if we’re lucky, we’ll capture one of them long enough to get some more information. At this point, anything is going to help, and I think Blayd over here will be the perfect candidate to provide a distraction.” Angelina tapped me playfully on the shoulder.

“Whatever needs to be done,” I replied.

“Ok, then.” She nodded. “Do any of you know where the Dawn Vultures are currently hiding out, or where they may keep some of their shipments? If we can get into a warehouse, it’s possible that we can steal some of their product to let them know we’re serious. If we hold down the fort long enough, we can grab one of them as well.”

Thrasher and Valkyrie nodded their heads.

“We’ve been trying to sniff them out for a few days now,” Valkyrie explained. “There’s a warehouse out in the desert that’s still up and running, but it’s gonna be a trip to get there. We have to be sure we have everything we need before we head out, because there’s nothing else around there for miles.”

“We’ll gather what we need.” I nodded. “But let’s not forget that the Vultures are armed too. When in doubt, we’ll just take what we need off of them. Though, it’s best we take a bigger vehicle, because I’m pretty sure we can’t walk out of there with a crate on a dammed bike.”

“Alright,’ Thrasher replied. “So, we need a vehicle big enough to get the job done and move in. After they’ve got the message, we have to work on figuring out who hired you, Angelina. Do you have any contact information for them?”

She shrugged. “Everything was anonymous, but I have a way of reaching out. Once we create a diversion, and let them know that we’re going to fight back with a vengeance, I’m sure they’re going to want to hear what happened. How they respond is going to help us figure out who they might be. I thought they were out of state retired cops for a long time, but now I’m starting to think that they’re really the Dawn Vultures. When they showed up outside my apartment to threaten me, they knew everything about me. They knew details that only my employer would’ve known.”

“Okay,” Thrasher said. “We’ll get on that as soon as we’re finished with the business at hand. You and Blayd track down a van, bring it back to the clubhouse, where we’ll be gathering weapons along with any other members that we have to join us. When we have everything we need, we’ll head out. I have to warn you, Angelina, it's not going to be a walk in the park for any of us. I know you haven’t been through this sort of thing before.”

“I can handle myself, and contribute.” She raised her chin up.

  They said nothing.

I knew she could, and she would. We each had our part to play in this. We weren’t going to stop until Scorpion and his band of vipers paid for all the chaos they’d caused.

I hope you enjoy what we have in store for you, Scorpion. I can’t wait to see you squirm.

  We Ain’t Kids Anymore

I never thought that things would get this complicated this quickly, and to even imagine that someone would target Scotch directly made me think that we had no idea what we were in for. It was only a few weeks ago that I was moving into the city trying to find out everything I could about Scotch, now I was getting ready to help him along with the rest of the club to take down their biggest rivals.

The air felt heavy around Blayd while we scoured the town, looking for a van that was parked in a discreet location that would give us enough time to steal it. We looked for what felt like hours until we passed a restaurant that had its delivery van parked outside. There were no lights on inside, and not another person to be seen, so Blayd and I pulled up to the van. It would to be a great fit for what we needed. It was large enough to carry one of our bikes back to the clubhouse while the other rode back on their bike.

I could already tell that Blayd and I were going to argue about who was going to get off their bike for the night, but I didn’t mind. I liked us getting at each other’s throats, and I couldn’t deny that we were getting closer now than we ever had been before. I started to care about him in a way I never thought I would, and judging from his playful, yet snarky remarks, I believed he felt the very same way. I couldn’t explain the connection we had, why we were constantly being brought together, but it looked like we weren’t going to be able to ignore it forever. I tried to put the thought from my mind, lingering on the way he looked, the way his dark hair fell effortlessly into his eyes. I hoped he didn’t catch me staring, because we had a job to do, and the last thing I needed was to get distracted.

“What will it be, Tomb Raider? Bike or van?” he asked.

I crinkled my nose at the name. “Tomb Raider? Why the fuck are you calling me that?”

“Seems to fit. You’re a hit woman with the name of Angelina. You know, Lara Croft?”

  I sighed. “Really, Blayd?

He nodded. “Really. Now, bike or van?” he asked, again as if he was going to give me a choice.

  “Bike,” I said.

“Wrong answer. You’re going to take the van, and I’m going to follow behind you making sure that no one ambushes us on the way back to the clubhouse. The last thing either of us need is another fucking ambush.”

I chuckled. “Have it your way, Blayd,” I said, tilting my head towards my bike, wondering if I would have to haul the thing into the back myself.

  “Hey!” he called to me.

“Will you just help me get the bike in the back? We should get back out on the road before anyone can figure out what we’re trying to do. I don’t think we’re going to do very well in an ambush situation. You get distracted really easily,” I said, provoking him.

“I’m pretty sure I’m not the one who gets distracted easily. Do you remember the last time we were on a job together?”

“You mean the only time?” I quipped.

“If you’d been quicker, we would’ve gotten out of there faster. Though, you just had to grab em’ all, didn’t you?” he asked, inching closer to me.

>   I felt the tension rise between us, as my body heated up the moment I felt the warmth emanating off of his skin. His eyes lowered to my lips, and for a second there, I thought he was going to kiss me, but he was just feeling me out. I should’ve known better, I should’ve pulled away sooner, but I wanted him just as much as he wanted me. I realized something though, it was gonna to be a race to see who would give in first. I pulled away from him, running my hand through my hair while trying to break the sexual tension between us. I opened up the back of the van.

Blayd helped me lift my bike into it. “You going to be okay, Raider?”

“Oh, you shortened it?” I quipped. “Good job and yes, I’ll be okay as long as you don’t fuck this up.”

He laughed. “I’m right behind you.”

I broke the window of the van with the butt of my gun and then unlocking the door, I fiddled with the wires until I got the thing to start. Once I heard the engine kick in, I looked up at him.

Blayd seemed to be incredibly impressed that I’d managed to do get it done. He got onto the back of his bike, slipping his helmet on, while I started to back the van out of the parking lot. I was just about to make it out onto the street when I saw the lights of the restaurant building turn on, like someone had been in there the entire time, but they were too late. We managed to snag their van when they weren’t looking.

We made it back to the clubhouse without any interruptions and I got to work removing the decals so that it would blend in with every other white van on the street.

“Good score, you two,” Thrasher said. “Problem is, the sun is going to be up soon. There’s no way we’re going to be able to get this done, once they spot us coming from a mile away.”

“So, what are we supposed to do? Wait around and give them more time to figure out what we’re trying to pull?” I asked.

They all shook their heads at me.

“I know, it’s tough,” Thrasher replied. “If we don’t wait it out, we might lose the only advantage we do have, which is the element of surprise. We can get everyone together by tomorrow, maybe even track down a few better weapons that will be worth our while. Though, someone has to watch over the van and the weapons we do have here.”

I looked at Blayd expecting that he would take this one.

He just smirked at me as he spoke to the men. “Raider and I got this.”

Thrasher, Valkyrie and Hammer all stared at me.

  “Raider?’ Valkyrie asked.

“Yeah.” Blayd gave him a nod. “She’s Angelina, a hit woman, Tomb Raider, get it?”

They all stared at him and then at me.

One by one, they busted out with laughter.

Thrasher shook his head. “And here I thought Scotch was good at the name game.”

  I rolled my eyes.

Blayd went on, “We’ll meet back here tomorrow and move ahead with the plan. I’m sure Raider and I can start tracking down her employer in the meantime.”

  Both Thrasher and Valkyrie nodded.

“Sounds good to me,” Thrasher said. “Let me know if you find anything. If we have even the slightest bit of a lead, anything that can indicate that the Dawn Vultures have anything to do with the bounty in the first place, it’s going to give us all the more reason to make sure they don’t make it out of this alive.”

“If there’s any signs of trouble, Blayd, don’t hesitate to call us,” Valkyrie added. “If you don’t think you can handle it on your own, call before it’s too late. If it wasn’t for that rule, Scotch wouldn’t be alive right now.”

“I’ll call if anything happens.” Blayd nodded at them.

I waved them off while they got onto their bikes and took off for the evening. I turned my attention to Blayd, who had been grinning the entire time. I scoffed at him, wondering which bedroom I was going to take for the evening. I tried to make my way down the hall and shut myself away from him for the night. I felt the pull between us but if we gave into this now, it might throw us off track.

Blayd caught me by the arm, gazing deeply into my eyes. “Off to bed so soon? I’m sure we both could use a drink,” he said, letting me go while he made himself comfortable behind the small bar at the far corner of the room.

I could still feel the warmth of his fingertips when they’d grasped my skin. I decided that after everything we’d been through, a drink wouldn’t hurt. “One drink, and I’m going to sleep. We have a crazy day tomorrow, and we’re both going to need every ounce of energy we can get.”

He nodded while he poured us both a glass of whiskey, as though he could read my mind.

I was definitely in the mood for hard liquor, something to take the edge off and calm all the thoughts that wouldn’t dissipate no matter how hard I tried to get rid of them. I found myself fixating on Blayd, imagining what it would be like to touch him, to feel his skin pressed up against mine. I blamed it on the nonstop adrenaline rush we’d both had over the last few days.

He put his glass down, coming around the bar to sit right next to me, while his eyes lingered on my lips yet again. “You sure you want to sleep?” he asked, softly, teasing me with every word that left his lips.

“Do you have something better in mind?”

“I can think of a few things,” he said, and his lips were inches away from mine.

Damn it, every bone in my body was begging for him to kiss me. I needed something to break the tension between us. I wanted him to take me right there. I had a feeling we were on the very same page.

His hand lifted my chin ever so slightly while he leaned in further, pressing his lips up against mine, while I felt the soft tickle of his stubble. His kiss erupted something inside of me that I couldn’t quite place, the hunger for more, the will to forget everything that we’ve been dealing with for a little while and just be with each other. He pulled away for a moment, looking down at me, while I felt my cheeks flush with the heat beneath my skin, and I let all my inhibitions go, pulling him in by the collar of his t-shirt, and kissing him fiercely.

His hands traveled down my back, making their way up again to get tangled in my hair while his tongue toyed with mine. I felt incredible, I felt alive, and I didn’t want it to end. I started unbuttoning my shirt, while he picked me up, slamming me against the wall, guiding my hands up above my head while his kisses trailed down my neck, igniting every desire inside of me, waiting to be fulfilled. I watched as he slipped his t-shirt over his head, tossing it onto the floor, while I did the very same with mine, and his hands grabbed my breasts, taking them out of my bra, as he sucked lightly on my nipples. I felt his teeth bite down softly, and I ran my fingers through his hair, wanting him to get me out of my jeans and slip inside of me.

I reached down, unbuckling his belt, while I helped him out of his pants and he did mine, wrapping my legs around his torso while my wet pussy brushed up against his torso, letting him know that I was more than ready for him to take me all the way. He didn’t even hesitate, taking his hard dick out of his boxers and then pulling my panties aside, while he guided it deep inside of me. He thrust deep, holding me up by my ass cheeks while he rammed his cock into me hard and fast. I struggled to hold onto the wall behind me, overcome with an incredible amount of pleasure. My entire body was on fire, and it wasn’t long before we were both doused in sweat, enjoying every inch of each other. I felt his lips find mine again. His arms tensed up, holding me steady and upright while he drove his hard, throbbing cock deeper, his balls slapping up against my ass as he fucked me.

I felt my eyes roll to the back of my head, and I had a hard time keeping them open, but when I caught sight of Blayd’s face staring back at me, I bit down on my lip playfully, wrapping my hands around his neck for support while his entire body tensed, and my legs began to quiver as the orgasm exploded through me, leaving me shaking, my pussy swollen, and I felt absolute euphoria. I felt him thrust again, filling me up with his warm load, while he leaned in to kiss me.

We were both panting, finding it difficult to catch our b
reath.

I chuckled, realizing that there was no way we were ever going to be able to fight this kind of fire, and I wasn’t sure why I had even bothered to try.

  “What’s so funny?” he asked.

“I think we can go to bed now,” I said.

“No kidding,” he replied, carrying me off to the nearest bedroom, where we slid beneath the sheets, drifting off to sleep for the night.

It was the best I’d felt in a long time, and I didn’t want to lose that feeling, but I knew when we woke the next morning, we’d have no choice but to get back to reality. I wanted to bask in the pleasure for as long as I possibly could, because we had no idea what we were in for when we finally went head on with this enemy.

Blayd’s warm arms wrapped around me.

In that moment, I felt absolutely safe. It was a feeling he’d promised me, but I never expected we’d end up here. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The breeze wafted along on my skin as we parked our bikes the following evening, just as the sun had started to set.

Valkyrie had brought the van this time. We had everything we needed to strike the Dawn Vultures in a way that they would never forget, because it was time that someone gave them a taste of their own medicine, and made them feel the very same fear that we’d been feeling from the time we learned about what happened to Scotch.

This was the first time I would actually walk into battle, having to calm my nerves, and focus on the goal. I already felt the tension in the air, the reminder that this could very well unfold into a bloodbath, and there would be absolutely nothing we could do about it besides trying to fight our way through.

Blayd stood next to me, reminding me of the time we had together the night prior and it made me feel all the more ready to strike with precision, and escape before things got really ugly.

My heart fluttered any time he was around me now. I had gotten a taste of him and I damn well liked it. I wanted to feel that way again, I wanted him to give me that sense of freedom, but I knew we might never get the chance to be together unless we found a way to get rid of the Dawn Vultures for good. We were all tired of living our lives on the edge. Tired of the damn Vulture Club attempting to kill us. I had to believe there was easier times ahead, because if there was one thing I’d learned from Blayd, it was that no matter how difficult things got, there was always something to look forward to. I just never thought that the thing I’d be looking forward to… would be him.
